On Sunday 6 December 2020, Propel Youth Arts WA once again invites you to join us in documenting 24 hours of life in Western Australia directly through your eyes! Every year, hundreds of people across WA simultaneously step behind their cameras to capture and submit an image from their day to Mosaic, a community-driven photography project and exhibition.

The Lester Prize is calling all aspiring and emerging artists aged 12–26 to join us for a live portraiture event in the heart of the city. You are invited to come along and draw or paint our celebrity subject. Everyone is welcome – no matter your skill level! Grace Newton-Wordsworth from alternative pop band Joan and the Giants will sit as our celebrity subject and play a few songs during the 2–hour session. Radio presenter and producer, Elsa Silberstein will be MC.

Shades and Colours is a photography workshop created to teach participants how to enter into their creative element by understanding how to work with models of colour in areas or locations that bring out their true and natural beauty.

This workshop will equip participants with a basic understanding of studio photography. Directing models and lighting, technical camera skills and settings, studio setups and adapting to variables are just a few aspects of studio photography.

Discover the power of drawing as an efficient mechanism for developing ideas and experimenting with process to expand student’s visual and conceptual language. Focusing on creative discovery and risk taking, students will learn practical skills and employ experimental methodologies to inspire an inventive and fearless approach to making work.
