Propel is looking for an emerging artist with a moorditj (great) vision to provide the creative spark and artistic drive for our flagship event, the Youth Week WA KickstART Festival 2021.
As Creative Coordinator, you will have the platform to showcase new ideas and talent to the WA arts community. We’re looking for someone who has excellent networks within the arts, creative passion, an open mindset and someone who’s able to bring out the best of WA youth.
Position Description
The Creative Coordinator is an emerging WA artist or arts worker who is supported by Propel Youth Arts WA to consult with young people on the development and delivery of the Youth Week WA KickstART Festival, which takes place in the Djeran Season (April) each year.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Creative Coordinator is responsible for the overall artistic direction of the KickstART Festival and brings their own unique personality to help shape the festival’s creative programming.
Tapping into their established industry networks and creative experience, the Creative Coordinator will consult with the Youth Week WA Planning Committee and Propel, to develop a theme, format and key activities for Youth Week WA in the Boorloo (Perth) area that are inclusive, accessible and serve to engage young people aged 12-26.
The Creative Coordinator works closely with the Project Manager, who will perform key administration duties and produce the events of Youth Week WA, and report to the General Manager. The Creative Coordinator will also work closely with the Communications Officer, interns, volunteers, and partner organisations throughout the engagement period.
About the Youth Week WA KickstART Festival
