This is your chance to dive into the world of youth arts event planning, hone your leadership skills, and work in a supportive and inspiring environment.
As a committee member, you'll play a key role in curating the festival’s theme, engaging in programming discussions, and making impactful decisions. Plus, you’ll receive an honorarium as a thank you for your dedication and enthusiasm.

These sessions are subject to change per the needs and preferences of Committee members and Propel staff over the course of the project timeline.
About Youth Week WA
Youth Week WA is an annual statewide celebration of the positive contributions of young people to our community throughout Western Australia. The Youth Week WA KickstART Festival offers young people aged 12 - 26 an extensive range of free workshops, forums, performances, programs, and special events every April.
As a member of the Planning Committee you will be responsible for:
Identifying the theme for Youth Week WA 2025
Participating in programming discussions with the Propel Team
Contributing your unique thoughts and feedback throughout the process and collaborating with the committee in decision-making
Attending regular committee meetings in the lead up to KickstART Festival
Facilitating, chairing and scribing committee meetings with other committee members.
Assisting in the grassroots promotion of KickstART Festival
Assisting with the set-up and running of events and activities as Propel Volunteers
To be considered for the Planning Committee you must:
Be aged 14 - 26 years
Be willing to learn and contribute during discussions
Be available to attend regular committee meetings
Be available to attend KickstART events during April 2025
Be passionate about providing opportunities for young people, and be interested or involved in the arts
Applications close 11.59pm on Monday 2nd September
Successful applicants within one week after this date. Those who are selected will be invited to a Committee Introduction session on September 14th. This session and all subsequent meetings leading up to KickstART Festival will be held in the Kimberley Room at the State Library of WA.
