Be the creative force behind the 2025 KickstART Festival!

Propel is looking for an emerging artist or arts worker who can help highlight the creativity of young people to our communities in WA. You get to work with other young people and plan a week of inspiring events for the Youth Week WA KickstART Festival, which will be held 10 - 17 April 2025.

The KickstART Festival is Propel’s largest annual event and Youth Week WA is an annual statewide celebration of the positive contributions of young people to our community throughout Western Australia. KickstART offers young people aged 12-26 a chance to enjoy free workshops, talks, performances, exhibitions, markets, and more.

 

We are looking for someone who:

  • loves youth arts and culture

  • has knowledge and networks in the WA creative scene

  • is not afraid to try new things and challenge the status quo

As the Creative Coordinator, you will:

  • work with the Youth Week Planning Committee to develop a theme for Youth Week WA

  • develop KickstART programming in consultation with the committee and Propel

  • help us celebrate the contributions of young people to our community

About Us

Propel Youth Arts WA is a for-purpose organisation providing young Western Australians aged 12-26 with opportunities to engage with arts and culture on their terms. We advocate for young people’s collective voice, resource their access to opportunities, and platform their creative contributions.

Through our creative programs, workshops, mentoring, and networking, Propel empowers young people to explore their creative pathways. Our events, festivals, performances, and exhibitions celebrate and showcase the diversity and talent of young people across WA.

  2. Compile a CV (2 pages max.) and Cover Letter (1 page max.) outlining:

    • Your interest in the position of Propel’s next KickstART Creative Coordinator

    • How the skills and attributes you bring to the role address the selection criteria

    • Your understanding of Propel’s values, context, and community

    • Details of two professional references, who may be contacted if you are shortlisted.

  3. Email your application to our Executive Director Jamie McGleave at jamie@propel.org.au.

  4. Make sure you submit before the deadline of midnight Sunday 25 August 2024.

 

Next Steps

  • If you are shortlisted, expect to be interviewed around Thursday 29 and Friday 30 August.

  • Shortly after interviews and checks, we will offer the role to the successful candidate.

  • The Creative Coordinator will ideally commence from Tuesday 3 September.
