Youth Week WA 2023 Planning Committee Callout!
As members of the 2023 Youth Week WA Planning Committee, you will play a key role in the planning and decision-making for the design and programming of the KickstART Festival.
We want you to help design the festival that you want to see, where you can help promote young people’s ideas and experiences to the broader community and beyond. This is your opportunity to learn what it takes to build and manage a youth arts event, and to gain leadership experience in a friendly environment. Committee members are offered an honorarium fee for their commitment.
About Youth Week WA
Youth Week WA is an annual statewide celebration of the positive contributions of young people to our community throughout Western Australia. For over eleven consecutive years, the Youth Week WA KickstART Festival has offered young people aged 12 - 26 an extensive range of free workshops, forums, performances, programs, and special events every April.
As a member of the Planning Committee you will be responsible for:
Identifying the theme for Youth Week WA 2023
Participating in programming discussions with the Propel Team
Contributing your unique thoughts and feedback throughout the process and collaborating with the committee in decision-making
Attending regular committee meetings in the lead up to and around the festival
Facilitating and chairing committee meetings
Assisting in the grassroots promotion of KickstART Festival
Assisting with the set-up and running of events and activities as Propel Volunteers
To be considered for the Planning Committee you must:
Be aged 14 - 26 years
Be willing to learn and contribute during discussions
Be available to attend regular committee meetings
Be available to attend KickstART events during April 2023
Be passionate about providing opportunities for young people, and be interested or involved in the arts
Applications close 11.59pm on Wednesday 24th August 2022.
Successful applicants will be notified the week commencing Monday 29th August. The first meeting will be a one-off induction and team building session, held the following week on Saturday 10 September 2022.
