ECHO is an exploration of life in Uganda and Ethiopia, told through short documentaries, live music and stories by Marcus Wong and David Chidgzey. We travelled through East Africa for 2 months, volunteering with grass root NGOs to produce documentaries showcasing the struggles of those living in developing countries, and the stories of locals fighting for social justice.

This is a free event, donations will be collected and donated to the featured projects in Ethiopia. Photobooks will be available for purchase, and there will be a silent auction of framed photographs.

Marcus Wong is a filmmaker, photographer and graphic designer from Perth. This is Marcus' second exhibition, following 'Voices Unheard' in 2018. Marcus was the recipient of the 2018 CameraPro Explorer's Grant, which made this exhibition possible. Marcus was recently awarded WA Youth Volunteer of the Year for his work in Africa.

David Chidgzey is a musician from Perth, trained at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in Contemporary Music. David plays in various acts around Perth and is the front man of local Perth band 'Chidgzey'. David joined Marcus for 2 months in Uganda and Ethiopia as a sound designer and composer for the documentaries.
