Propel Youth Arts WA and The Lester Prize are very proud to announce a new Visual Arts Mentorship program for BIPOC artists held as part of the Youth Week WA KickstART Festival.
We have designed this mentorship program specifically for young BIPOC visual artists who have faced barriers to further develop their art practice in drawing, print making or painting. This is a program to make visual arts accessible particularly for artists who haven’t pursued formal studies in the field.
We invite young passionate artists looking to expand their skills and knowledge of art to apply for this 2 day intensive program where they will get to learn from professional artists including Mark Tweedie, Andy Quilty and Camilla Loveridge.
We are also pleased to introduce Tyrown Waigana, Wandandi Noongar (Aboriginal) and Ait Koedhal (Torres Strait Islander) multidisciplinary artist and graphic designer who will be the lead mentor for the young artists throughout the 2 day program.
Mentorship Program Dates: Thursday 15 April & Friday 16 April, 9am-4pm.
Applications have been extended, please send in your application by Monday 5 April, 5pm.
