The Lester Prize offers volunteers a unique experience to work on a major national visual arts event that involves many artists from around Australia.

Essential Prerequisites / Attributes:
• Available to work between 31 October - 29 November 2020
• Have excellent communication skills - are a good listener and learner, and am able to communicate well with people from all walks of life
• Have ability to think on your feet and happy to work in crowds
• Reliable
• Have a keen interest in art

Desirable Prerequisites
• Previous experience in events or similar fields of work
• Study in arts discipline or related fields

Volunteer Eligibility & Role.

• Volunteers must be 18+ years.

• We have a limited number of positions available to assist with Prize administration in TLP's Nedlands Office for period September—October 2020.

• We have various positions available at our exhibition venues and events for the Exhibition Season period October—November 2020.

• Attend a short interview either by phone or in person as requested by the Volunteers Coordinator.

• Shortlisted volunteers will be required to attend a Volunteer Orientation/Briefing and Induction session on 13 October or 15 October (more information on session times will be sent out closer to the date).

• Comply with the Code of Conduct, Drug and Alcohol Policy and Emergency Training of The Lester Prize.

• Available for shifts which will run for 4 hours each.

• Each volunteer will fulfill a minimum of 2 shifts during the whole volunteering period.

• Volunteers will support the events and activation program, meet and greet visitors to the exhibition, provide directions and provide event information.

• Report any touching of artworks or potential damage to the closest security guard or TLP Volunteer Team Leader.

• Wear your identification pouch/lanyard so it is visible at all times.

• Communicate any issues directly to TLP management/staff.

• Additional tasks as required.
