As members of the 2022 Youth Week WA Planning Committee you will play a key role in the planning and decision-making for the design and programming of KickstART Festival

This is your chance to learn what it takes to build and manage a youth arts event, we want you to help design the festival that you want to see. It’s a great opportunity to gain leadership experience in a friendly environment where you can help promote young people’s ideas and experiences to the broader community. Committee members will also be offered a honorarium for their commitment. 

About Youth Week WA

Youth Week WA is an annual statewide celebration of the positive contributions of young people to our community throughout Western Australia. For over eleven consecutive years, the Youth Week WA KickstART Festival has offered young people aged 12 - 26 an extensive range of free workshops, forums, performances, programs, and special events every April. 

As a member of the Planning Committee you will be responsible for:    

  • Brainstorming a theme for Youth Week WA 2022

  • Participating in programming discussions with the Propel Team and contributing your unique thoughts and feedback

  • Attending regular committee meetings in the lead up to the Festival

  • Facilitating and chairing committee meetings  

  • Assisting in the grassroots promotion of KickstART Festival 

  • Assisting with the set-up and running of events and activities as Propel Volunteers  

 

To be considered for the Planning Committee you must: 

  • Be aged 14 - 26 years

  • Be willing to learn and contribute during discussions

  • Be available to attend regular committee meetings

  • Be available to attend KickstART events during April 2022

  • Be passionate about providing opportunities for young people, and be interested or involved in the arts


Applications close 11pm on Sunday 22 August 2021.

Successful applicants will be notified and a Committee announced by Friday 27 August. The first meeting will be a one off induction and team building half-day session, held the following week on Saturday 4 September 2021.
