Apply to be an Intern with us for the Youth Week WA KickstART Festival 2022!

We are offering internship opportunities across a range of roles for our flagship project.

All successfully appointed interns will be expected to work in the Propel Office at least 1 day / 8 hours per week, which may increase in the lead up to KickstART Festival, which will be held from 8 - 16 April 2022.

Our interns will be aged between 16 - 26, have a passion for the arts or a willingness to learn about the industry, have high level communication skills and have a positive attitude towards work and the arts environment.

We are looking for Interns in the follow roles:

Project Assistant Intern

The Project Assistant Intern will work closely with the Project Manager to assist with the coordination of key festival events including sketchbook project, KickstART Market, the closing festival event and the program launch event. They will also undertake daily administration tasks during the busy period in the office including organising contracts, developing information packs and updating stakeholder data bases.  This role is perfect for someone who wants to get hands on experience in the arts industry and develop skills in events and project development and logistical planning.

Marketing Intern

With guidance from the Communications Officer the Marketing Intern will support the Propel Team to promote the many events on offer during Youth Week WA and encourage high levels of community engagement.  Focusing on online and social media platforms the Marketing intern will assist in executing an existing strategic marketing plan that targets Propel’s key demographics, whilst also creating excitement and anticipation for the festival.

Programming Intern

The Programming Intern will be working closely with the Creative Coordinator to assist with the development of the creative programming for the 2022 KickstART Festival. You’ll have the opportunity to sit in on curatorial meetings, meet artists and partners, and contribute to key Festival projects and events. This role is perfect for a young artist who wants to get hands on experience in the arts industry and develop skills in creative programming and administration. This is also an opportunity well suited for young people who could not otherwise easily access a professional development or internship program due to systemic barriers.
