Cool Change Contemporary - Part-time Communications and Admin Coordinator

Cool Change Contemporary Logo

Cool Change Contemporary is seeking a part-time Communications and Admin Coordinator.

Working closely with the management committee, the Communications and Admin Coordinator will undertake regular administrative tasks for the gallery, liaise with our team of volunteers and manage communications and marketing.

Cool Change Contemporary is the only application-based Artist-Run Initiative in Perth’s CBD. We run a multi-gallery venue located within the historic Bon Marche Arcade building on Barrack Street from which we host a monthly program of exhibitions and residencies supported by regular performances, screenings, workshops and events, and a shop.

A volunteer-led organisation, Cool Change Contemporary was founded in mid 2018 by seven artists, curators and musicians. Our volunteer management committee is currently made up of 8 individuals who manage the daily and strategic operations of the gallery and associated programs. The committee is supported by a team of volunteers who assist with invigilation, exhibition install and event management. Cool Change Contemporary recently secured funding from the WA Department of Local Government, Sports and Cultural Industries to develop rigorous administration processes; put in place long-term planning to grow the organisation; and employ a part-time staff member to streamline communications activity and manage day-to-day tasks at our Bon Marche Arcade venue.

The incumbent to this newly-created position will work closely with the management committee to coordinate the communication obligations of Cool Change Contemporary, liaise with our team of volunteers and undertake regular administrative tasks for the gallery. While this is a fixed-term contract, there is the possibility for extension if future funding is secured.

APPLICATIONS CLOSE MIDNIGHT FRIDAY 1 NOVEMBER 2019.
