Express your interest to be a part of the Sustainable Art for a Sustainable Mind Youth Arts Exhibition presented by KickstART Festival 2024 and City of Melville.

Sustainable Art for a Sustainable Mind is a program is for young disabled and neurodivergent people aged 10 to 25 to create new artworks to be exhibited at Atwell Gallery through a series of workshops led by local young artist Neish P. 

Submit your EOI to be selected for this program. You do not have to be a resident of the City of Melville to apply: this opportunity is open to anyone within the age bracket above who lives in WA. 

Young disabled and neurodiverse people with or without art-making experience are encouraged to apply!


If selected to exhibit, you will receive: 

  • Space to show your work at Atwell Gallery within the City of Melville.

  • The opportunity to work with lead artist Neish, who will be available to assist you with installing your work and writing an artist statement. 

  • The invitation to attend 4 art development workshops at Canning Bridge Community Space and AH Bracks Library in the lead up to the exhibition.

  • High quality documentation of your work in the space. 

This will be done in a disability friendly environment and led by local disabled artists.

Program Dates:

  • 2 March: Expressive Painting at Canning Bridge Community Space

  • 9 March: Trash Mosaic at Canning Bridge Community Space

  • 16 March: Poetry, Music & Performance at AH Bracks Library + Creative Space

  • 23 March: Artist Statements & Finishing Artworks at AH Bracks Library + Creative Space

  • 5 to 12 April: Group Exhibition at Atwell Galley

This form is due at midnight on Sunday, Feb 18 2024, unless you have spoken directly with the Propel team about an alternate due date. 


ABOUT NEISH P:
Neish P is a neuro-diverse artist based in Walyalup (Fremantle) who loves collecting rubbish, finger painting and making a mess. They often find themself lost in poetry land, soaring the sky like a kite, napping on clouds and sliding down rainbows in search of the ground. Neish works in the disability arts sector, and is committed to access and inclusion for everyone across all aspects of life.
