Come onboard and be part of the 2024 Youth Week WA KickstART Festival Planning Committee!

We invite you to shape the festival of your dreams! Unleash your creativity and be the beacon that amplifies the vibrant voices and ideas of youth to the broader community and beyond. This is your chance to immerse yourself in the art of designing and orchestrating a youth arts event while fostering leadership skills in a warm and supportive setting. As valued committee members, you’ll receive an honorarium fee as a token of our appreciation for your passion and commitment. Join us and sculpt the festival you envision!

The below information is provided to indicate the level of commitment that Youth Week WA Planning Committee members can expect during their involvement.

  • Late September - Committee Introduction Day

  • Mid-October - Meeting 1

  • Early November - Meeting 2

  • Late November - Meeting 3

  • Mid-December - Meeting 4

  • 2024 Key Dates

  • Mid-January - Meeting 5

  • Late Jan - Meeting 6

  • Mid/Late February - Meeting 7

  • Mid-March - Meeting 8

  • Mid-April - Youth Week WA KickstART Festival

  • Late April - Debrief & Celebration

These sessions are subject to change per the needs and preferences of Committee members and Propel staff over the course of the project timeline.


 As a member of the Planning Committee you will be responsible for:    

  • Identifying the theme for Youth Week WA 2024

  • Participating in programming discussions with the Propel Team

  • Contributing your unique thoughts and feedback throughout the process and collaborating with the committee in decision-making

  • Attending regular committee meetings in the lead up to KickstART Festival

  • Facilitating, chairing and scribing committee meetings with other committee members.

  • Assisting in the grassroots promotion of KickstART Festival 

  • Assisting with the set-up and running of events and activities as Propel Volunteers  

To be considered for the Planning Committee you must: 

  • Be aged 14 - 26 years

  • Be willing to learn and contribute during discussions

  • Be available to attend regular committee meetings

  • Be available to attend KickstART events during April 2023

  • Be passionate about providing opportunities for young people, and be interested or involved in the arts

Applications close 11.59pm on Monday 11th September 2023.

Successful applicants within one week after this date. Those who are selected will be invited to a Committee Introduction session. This session and all subsequent meetings leading up to KickstART Festival will be held in the Kimberley Room at the State Library of WA.

About Youth Week WA

Youth Week WA is an annual statewide celebration of the positive contributions of young people to our community throughout Western Australia. The Youth Week WA KickstART Festival offers young people aged 12 - 26 an extensive range of free workshops, forums, performances, programs, and special events every April.
