Youth Grants up to $500 with the Youth Development Fund Pilot Program

  • Propel Youth Arts WA 53 James Street Northbridge (map)

If you’re aged 12-25 and have an idea for young people in the City of Melville, Grants of up to $500 are on offer through the Youth Development Fund pilot program.

You can apply to fund programs, activities, initiatives, events, courses and other things which have a youth focus. If it’s an idea that’s 'by young people, for young people' then you're onto a winner! Some ideas for projects or applications can include:

  • An exam study or creative writing session (including light snacks, drinks, supplies and space hire).

  • A one-off workshop.

  • A zine making afternoon.

  • A one-shot (one-off) DnD campaign.

  • A skate jam.

  • Equipment or facility hire (sporting gear or even a photo / podcast studio).

  • Community clean up or planting day.

  • A nature photo walk or sketching tour.

  • Social meet up (including food and drinks).

  • Any opportunity for a specific group of young people (eg. LGBTIQA+, First Nations, Migrants, and/or Multicultural folks) to hang out and/or participate in an activity together. Please note, if you are applying for a project involving a certain group, make sure you can demonstrate a significant connection to that specific group or community.

Depending on your idea, you may find that another grant program at the City is better suited for what you want to do. If in doubt, feel free to get in touch.

Applications must be received (at a minimum) up to 4 weeks before the proposed activity/program is to take place.

Applications close Saturday, 30 September 2023.

For further enquiry, reach out to Community Development Officer - Youth - Felix Ross by email at felix.ross@melville.wa.gov.au or by phone on 08 9364 0185 to chat about your idea.
