The Department of Communities is seeking nominations from young Western Australians to be Youth Week WA Ambassadors for 2024!

If you or someone you know is passionate about being a voice for young people and raising awareness about the issues and concerns facing young people today, and would also enjoy being involved in the planning, promoting, and facilitation of a range of incredible Youth Week WA events throughout the State, then this opportunity is for you!

Youth Week WA 2024 Ambassadors will be confident public speakers, passionate advocates for young people, and comfortable sharing their views and concerns with a variety of stakeholders, including other young people, the Minister for Youth, and the media.

We are very keen to hear from applicants with diverse experiences, backgrounds, and abilities, from all across our state. Please share this opportunity with any friends, networks, or other contacts who may be interested in applying!

Eligibility

As Western Australia’s Youth Week WA 2024 Ambassador, you should be:

  • aged 18–25 years (but not turning 26 years until after April 2024, the end of Youth Week WA);

  • available for a one-year term commencing October 2023;

  • contactable by phone, email and able to attend meetings; and

  • available throughout April 2024 for media interviews and promotional activities.

Applications are open now until 10pm Sunday, 9 July 2023!

To complete the Application Form, you’ll need to provide:

  1. Your contact and diversity information.

  2. Short responses telling us your thoughts about Youth Week WA, youth engagement strategies, and the current issues facing young people (there will be two questions requiring written responses, and one requiring you to record and upload a video response).

  3. A brief résumé or CV detailing any applicable experience, including any current employment, current or past involvement on boards or committees, experience organising events, and/or experience with public relations or advocacy about important issues for young people.
