2024 EXHIBITION PROGRAMS: EXPLORING 'LANGUAGE' AND BEYOND

Midland Junction Arts Centre is on the lookout for exhibition projects that explore a myriad of interpretations of this theme, thereby fostering artistic excellence, nurturing cultural diversity, and catalysing meaningful social change.

The team at Midland Junction Arts Centre warmly welcomes a diverse group of applicants to propose ideas that not only resonate with this theme but also spark broader discussions and dialogues. Prospective exhibitors are strong encouraged to visit either the Mundaring Arts Centre or the Midland Junction Arts Centre to engage in insightful discussions with them.


EOI INFORMATION SESSION:

Date: Thursday 5 October, 5-7pm

Venue: Midland Junction Arts Centre | Meeting Room

SELECTION PROCESS:

Applications will be evaluated by the
Artistic Programming Advisory Panel (APAP) based on:

  • Artistic Merit and Commitment (40%)

  • Exhibition Proposal and Professional Development (30%)

  • Sustainable Cultural Development and Community Engagement (20%)

  • Accessibility and Diversity (10%):

KEY DATES:

  • Submission Deadline: 20th October 2023

  • Notification of Outcome: 3rd November 2023

 

EXHIBITION VENUE:

  • Mundaring Arts Centre (MAC): Located amidst scenic hills, featuring a unique shop and two gallery spaces.

  • Midland Junction Arts Centre (MJAC): Situated within 20 minutes of Perth CBD, housing artist studios and a 140-seat auditorium.

COSTS AND INCLUSIONS:

The package includes gallery hire, curation assistance, and online promotion, with differentiated pricing for various galleries and discounts for MAC Inc. members.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Applicants are encouraged to seek funding from local governmental bodies to cover exhibition costs.

  • MAC Inc. coordinates sales during the exhibition, applying a 35% commission on sold artworks and ensuring security during business hours.
