From the award-winning team at Second Chance Theatre, Playthings is a new work exploring the impact of childhood trauma on teenagers and young adults. Forming a part of the Blue Rooms main season of works, Playthings brings together some of Perth’s best independent creatives to create a powerful ode to the young.

13-year-olds Lucy and Arnold grow close. Like all children, they play games. But these games are not what you’d expect from suburban children. These are the games of the new millennial; these are dangerous games. 

Playthings is an unflinching portrayal of violence, trauma, and abuse in Australian suburbia. A mash-up of Donnie Darko and late-night viewings of RAGE that is guaranteed to take you back to your teenage years in an ode to being young, dumb, and angry.
