Presented by Izzy Leclezio & Estelle Brown and State of Play as part of FRINGE WORLD Festival 2022
Have you ever dreamt of a Lonely Planet? Far, far away, past the stars and the dark side of the moon. A place where night and day occurs every half hour, with an orbit that stumbles at each skipped heartbeat.
An expansive galaxy lives between the lungs of a 12-year-old boy. His bicycle - it's growing wings! He's zooming into outer space, past stars that glow like fairy lights under a soft blanket of sky.
He is so far away from himself, from the place where nothing makes sense. He is the Night Wanderer: big and strong and endless.
Three dance-theatre artists and a live sound composer bring to life the abstract story of a young boy's journey to the Lonely Planet: is it a physical place or something inside him? Does he ever make it to the Lonely Planet, or will the journey last a lifetime?
Dreams of a Lonely Plant is a beautiful story told through emotive movement, highly physicalised caricatures, shadow puppetry and a simple transformative set design.
Dreams of a Lonely Planet runs
