Girls Write Up is an all-day festival for teens that teaches empowerment through writing and sharing stories. Born in 2016, Girls Write up has been running successfully in Melbourne and Sydney for 3 years now, and this year we have also expanded to Brisbane, Wodonga, and Perth.
Over the course of the day, authors, performers, artists, poets and other creative thinkers share the ways they have used their writing to define their identities and shape the world around them. The program of panels and practical workshops gives participants the opportunity to discover their own creative voice, equipping them with the skills and the confidence to use it.
The wonderful line-up of presenters for the inaugural Girls Write Up Perth includes Regina Akora, Candy Bowers, Laniyuk Garcon, Charlotte Guest, Alicia Tuckerman and Zainab Syed.
