Anastasia's How-To: Make a Leather Bound Notebook
Happy Easter and long weekend everyone! Was it just us, or did Easter creep up and surprise us out of the blue? It’s hard to keep track of major public holidays due to everything COVID-19 related happening lately, but nonetheless we have a little project for you over the weekend, which is to make your own leather bound notebook! Anastasia Beasley, our Volunteer Coordinator shows us how to make your own vintage style leather covered book in the video below, so enjoy, stay safe and have good long weekend.
Here is what you need to create your own leather bound notebook:
Paper, it can be any type Anastasia uses board and watercolour paper
Scrap leather
PVA glue
Scrap fabric (something that is porous to soak up the PVA) eg. calico
Awl - which is a thick needle type tool that allows you to thread (a normal needle will work fine too, but will depend on the thickness of your chosen paper)
Cardboard
Most things can be found at Officeworks or anywhere that sells stationery, feel free to salvage material lying about in your homes! If you have any questions, shoot them through to hello@propel.org.au
