As we transition from Birak to Bunuru, Cool Change Contemporary are excited to open our fourth callout, inviting EOIs from artists, curators, producers and collectives across art forms to facilitate exhibitions, residencies and film screenings between May and October 2020.
More exciting yet, this callout is different from our others in that there will be no hire fees for this round of our artistic program. Having recently secured project funding from the Australia Council for the Arts, this is an incredible opportunity to showcase the diversity of our broader community, without the limitations that self-funded creative outcomes pose to independent artists.
We encourage proposals encompassing critically engaged and experimental projects, from practitioners at all stages of practice and across artforms.
Cool Change Contemporary is located on unceded Whadjuk Noongar boodja, where the year is divided into six seasons. Our current stages of programming aim to acknowledge the custodianship of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation, and pay respect to their Elders past, present and emerging. We also relish our position on the edge of the Indian Ocean, and within the Asia-Pacific region. As such, we encourage proposals from First Nations people, practitioners of culturally diverse backgrounds, and those working regionally, interstate or internationally.
If you experience barriers to meeting the requirements of our proposal or program structure, please contact us at hello@coolchange.net.au to discuss this further.
Exhibition, residency and film screening EOIs must be received via Google Form before midnight Sunday February 16, 2020.
