Wear it Purple are proud to announce the second year of our Queer Futures Fund and Future Me Fund! A grant program dedicated to elevating LGBTQIA+SB youth’s voices and visibility through art, culture and community based projects.
Applications open on Monday 1st July and will close on Monday 19th August 2024.
Wear It Purple have funded everything from poetry workshops to short films and animations to DJ workshops and albums created by Queer artists.
What matters most is that your project is by and for LGBTQIA+SB youth. Think of the Queer Futures and Future Me fund as a resource created to back our LGBTQIA+SB community, platform Queer storytelling and bolster the creation of communities across the country.
To be eligible for either stream you must identify as a part of the LGBTQIA+SB community and be based in so called Australia.
Grant Writing Workshops for Queer Youth
Wear it Purple have partnered with Kaylene Langford of StarUp Creative to design and deliver three online workshops aimed at upskilling young LGBTQIA+SB folks to feel prepared, supported and confident in pursuing their passion project and applying for the Queer Futures Fund.
Workshops are free to attend and will run on a weekly basis from 8th - 22nd July and cover everything from writing a grant application and creating a project budget to strategic partnerships.
The Queer Futures Fund offers up to $15,000 for young LGBTQIA+SB people aged 18 to 26:
