PASSING: An Asian-Australian Musical is a brand-new Australian musical making its debut at Fringe World 2021.

Completely written and produced by Asian-Australian artists; PASSING is a heartwarming story about what it means to be who you are, in a world that isn't ready to see you.

PASSING is set around 2018 and follows the journey of a young woman named Rachel, born in Thailand and migrated to Australia to pursue her dreams of becoming a pop-chart-topping singer. Little does she know that a chance meeting with a stranger in a dingy bar is going to change their lives for the better.

All songs in the show are original and electronically produced, inspired by current indie pop, jazz and hip hop.

The show explores how music can transcend language barriers and aims to highlight the struggles of citizenship, racial micro-aggressions and the clashing of cultural and family values in a modern, culturally diverse Australia.
