Lucidity

  • The Blue Room Theatre 53 James Street Perth, WA, 6000 Australia (map)

"Life, what we call life, is only two thirds of our potential life. So why does the waking world have the monopoly on living?"

Alex is in the business of dreams. A young, charismatic, self-help tycoon who has made millions promoting the benefits of lucid dreaming through his company Lucidity. Dealt some unexpected blows, Alex starts abusing his own methodology and ultimately finds himself caught between two worlds; one he can control, the other he cannot.

Helped by his increasingly impatient sister Billy, Alex tries to shake his habit and rejoin the real world. He does everything he is meant to; he gets up in the morning, he goes to work, he goes on dates, and gets a girlfriend. But the harder Alex tries to live a normal life, the more trivial it seems to become. When your sleeping life is full and vivid, waking up can be a hard pill to swallow.

Presented by JackRabbit Theatre, this show is being toured from Sydney after a tremendous season at Adelaide Fringe.

Written and Directed by Michael Abercromby. Starring Andreas Lohmeyer, Alex Malone, Charlotte Devenport and Shaynee Brayshaw.
