The Year 12 Perspectives exhibition is celebrating its 24th year. Once again this popular annual event provides the platform to showcase selected works from students graduating from Year 12 Visual Arts.

58 works by 57 students from across Western Australia were selected by this year’s judging panel comprised of: Lisa Bowden, Principal Consultant Visual Arts, School Curriculum and Standards Authority; Abdul-Rahman Abdullah, Artist; and Dunja Rmandic, Associate Curator Projects, AGWA.

Works span a variety of subject matter and media, ranging from painting and drawing to sculpture, digital moving image, photography and textiles.

This exhibition represents a great opportunity to glimpse the world through the eyes of our young people.

The People’s Choice Award encourages visitors to the exhibition and website to vote for their favourite artist. The most popular vote will be counted in the final days of the exhibition and the winning artist will be acknowledged with a $250 Gallery Shop voucher.

The graduating students who study Visual Art at the winning student’s school will also receive tickets to attend the Unknown Land: Mapping and Imagining Western Australia exhibition which opens at AGWA on 17 September. One lucky voter will also win a $50 Shop voucher for voting in this year’s People’s Choice Award.

Voting closes 5pm, Monday 6 June (WA Day). The winning artist will be announced on Wednesday, 8 June.
