The Bookbinder

  • The Blue Room Theatre 53 James St Perth, WA, 6000 Australia (map)

They say you can get lost in a good book. But it’s worse getting lost in a bad one. From award-winning company Trick of the Light Theatre comes a story of mystery, magic and mayhem. Inspired by the haunting works of Chris Van Allsburg and Neil Gaiman, The Bookbinder weaves shadowplay, paper art, puppetry, and music into an inventive one-man performance for curious children and adventurous adults. Winner of Best Theatre and Best in the Fringe - NZ Fringe 2014

The Bookbinder is an inventive one-man performance first performed in the back room of Arty Bees bookshop as part of NZ Fringe in Wellington and has since toured throughout New Zealand and Australia. It has played to sell out houses for every performance since its premiere, and received Best Theatre, Best in the Fringe, and the Tiki Tour Ready Award at the NZ Fringe 2014, and the International Excellence Award at Sydney Fringe 2014. It has wide appeal to audiences of all ages, but is best suited to children 8+.
