Not About Heroes tells the story of the meeting of the most important of the Great War poets, Siegfried Sassoon and Wilfred Owen - Owen who died just as the bells proclaiming the Armistice rang out and Sassoon who lived into the 1960s.
The playwright, through the use of poetry and diaries, enlivened with imagined dramatic sequences, paints a vivid picture of the war and, at the same time, unfolds the evolving friendship between these two very different men. Two Perth-bred actors, Mark Desebrock (Owen) and Sam Devenport (Sassoon) have both returned from careers overseas to play the short season.
Directed by Anthony Howes. Designed by Dean Morris and Jay Waugh.
