NEWS: Propel Youth Arts WA Supports School Strike 4 Climate

Propel Youth Arts WA is adding our name and voice to the long list of local artists and organisations who are downing tools and taking part in the public rally in Perth’s city centre.

Propel School Strike 4 Climate

Arts organisations and workers will add their voices to the worldwide School Strike 4 Climate Action Climate Strike on Friday 20th September. We join with the students leading the global climate strike and will not stand by as inaction threatens our communities, livelihoods and the planet we share. Our culture and institutions cannot survive the global crises that will follow a failure to act. We encourage all arts organisations and arts workers to respond in the way that best suits their unique circumstances.

Alongside many of our colleagues and contemporaries we join in the demand for no new coal, oil and gas projects, including the adani mine; net zero emissions and 100% renewable energy generation and exports by 2030; immediate funding for a just transition and job creation for fossil-fuel industry workers and communities.

Propel Youth Arts WA will be closed on Friday 20th September.
